The Missouri Illinois Trials Association is an organization that is dedicated to the promotion of the sport of Observed Trials in the central/southern Illinois and Missouri region.
Trials is a motorcycle sport that is scored by how many times you touch the ground for balance as you are going thru a marked course called a section. The speeds are slow but the new bikes can certainly make you hold on tight when you turn the gas on.
Due to "Lack of Interest and Attendance" the MITA is not currently active in promoting trials events. But don't panic if you live in the central/southern Illinois and eastern Missouri region, there is an organization that has volunteered to take us in (so to speak) and allow us to compete with other trials enthusiasts in the region. Due to lack of interest and attendance at our 2008 events, the MITA is taking some time to regroup. If you would like to see the MITA continue to host events in Southern Illinois and Southeastern Missouri please use the Request info page to let us know of your interest. Also if you are interested in joining us to host events please use the Request Info page to let us know. On average we only had about 5 to 6 riders show up at our events last season and we only have about 3 active members that are willing to host events. This makes it very difficult to motivate anyone to continue to put forth the effort to host events. Unfortunately this is not the first time this has happened in the long history of the organization and I am sure it will not be the last if we do not find more volunteers interested in hosting events and more riders to participate. So if you would like to see the MITA continue to host events please contact us as soon as possible to let us know that there are still riders out there in the Southern Illinios/Southeastern Missouri area that have a desire to compete.
